Energy & Environment

Acacia Energy Group strives to be a leader in environmental protection and sustainability, and undertakes variety of initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint of its business activities in line with its Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy.

As the energy trading and oil refining company, Acacia Energy Group has a fundamental relationship with the environment. Not only our refining operations rely on a feedstock of fossil fuels but also they generate emissions and waste that we must carefully manage and reduce. Because of this connection, protection of the environment is one of the Acacia’s core values and key focus for a more sustainable energy future. We expect our employees and others working for and with us to consider the environment at all times and continually look for opportunities to reduce our environmental impact and footprint in a cost-effective way.

According to the latest industry studies, the overall demand for energy will continue to expand, as increasing prosperity in the fast-growing emerging economies lifts billions of people from low incomes and poverty. Oil, gas and coal will remain the dominant sources of energy powering the world economy, accounting for more than three-quarters of total energy supplies in 2035. Plentiful supplies of energy will enable the rise in living standards, with virtually all the growth in energy demand expected to come from outside the developed world. The extent of this increase is likely to be curbed by improvements in energy efficiency, as increasing attention around the world is devoted to using energy in a more sustainable way.

Faster gains in energy efficiency combined with the gradual changes in the fuel mix mean the growth of carbon emissions from energy is expected to slow sharply relative to the past 20 years. Even so, the most likely path sees carbon emissions continuing to increase, indicating the need for further precautionary and environmental policy actions. These actions clearly require more than tweaking energy and petroleum production processes. They call for a broader reconsideration of the role and responsibility of energy companies in the society and economic growth.

Acacia Energy Group strongly believes that environmental leadership and economic growth are inseparable, and this new broader role of energy companies must be both ways - building the economy and protecting the environment. Energy companies should not have to choose between a healthy planet and a strong economy; they should follow to oil and gas energy development, job creation and aggressive environmental stewardship.

Acacia’s environmental commitment is based on the foundation of outstanding regulatory compliance, as we work to meet and surpass many environmental rules and requirements that apply to our refining operations. Going beyond compliance, our goal is to demonstrate leadership and meet the expectations of our customers and communities we operate. They depend on us to act responsibly and operate with fewer emissions, waste and other environmental impacts.

Acacia Energy Group is committed to a long-term sustainable approach to caring for and safeguarding the environment. Specifically, "sustainability" means that we constantly work to balance environmental considerations and social responsibility with our business goals. Every year as part of our internal and ongoing efforts to self-identify and self-correct any potential environmental non-compliance issues, we conduct our own audits of refinery and storage operations.

As a result, we strive to evolve and implement our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy in addition to complying with environmental laws and regulations. Acacia management strongly believes that only a sustainable approach to environmental considerations will benefit the customers, partners, associates and communities we operate by both meeting our business goals and protecting and improving the quality of the environment in which we all live.
